Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions (Yellowbook)

The much anticipated update to the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions was released by the Interagency Land Acquisition Conference in Dec. 2016. This is the first update to the standards since 2000. The Appraisal Institute’s two-day course not only provides a comprehensive review of the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions 6th edition, it includes critical instruction to those involved in federal land acquisition valuation assignments. The course walks you through case studies which demonstrate practical procedures and solutions. Whether you are an experienced appraiser who writes or reviews federal land acquisition appraisals or you are an appraiser interested in expanding your client base to include federal and state agencies and organizations, this course will show you how to apply the 6th edition Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions in practice. An optional one-hour exam is included.

A financial calculator is required. The accepted model used in the course is the HP-12C. Note: Cellular phones, tablets, iPads, and other devices that connect to the Internet are NOT permitted during the exam.

Education Credits

Attend Only = 150 points
Attend and Pass = 200 points
Pass Exam Only = 55 points

Certificate Policy

Certificates for this program will be processed and distributed by the national office rather than the chapter office and can take up to two weeks. Should you need a certificate expedited, please fill out the certificate form on the national website and notify the chapter office prior to the start of class so they can coordinate with the national office. It can take 3-5 business days from submission of the form until receipt of the certificate, so please schedule your request accordingly.

Attendance Requirements

100% attendance is required for all Appraisal Institute education programs. This follows Appraiser Qualifications Board minimum criteria requirements. A “classroom hour” is defined as 50 minutes out of each 60 minute segment. A 10-minute break per hour is allowed and a student would still meet the 100% attendance requirement. Students should not be late or leave early; if they are late or leave early, they will not receive credit.
